Roulette is definately one of the most exciting and fun games to play. Online roulette play couldn’t be easier to learn. This casino game play of a wheel, a small ball and a table that has the betting options printed on it. The American roulette wheel has 38 slots (1-36 with a 0 and a 00), while the European roulette wheel has 37 slots (1-36 with a 0). The 0 slots are in green while the other numbers are in red or black slots.

To start playing online casino roulette select how much you want to bet and place it on the betting table. You can bet on a specific number or numbers, on the color the ball will land on, whether the winning number will be odd or even and so on. After this the dealer/casino spins the roulette wheel in one drection and then the ball gets thrown in the opposite direction.

When the ball stops in one of the slots, then the number of that slot is the winning number and color. You then get paid out according to your bets.

Lets get into more detail about the betting options that you have in online roulette play.

The Straight Bet:
You place a bet on anyone of the 38 (or 37) slots. You get the highest odds with this bet… 35:1 that the roulette ball will land on the number that you selected to bet on.

Split or Two Number Bet:
In a split bet your bet is placed on the line between two neighboring numbers (12 and 15). You win if the roulette ball lands on either of those numbers. The odds are 17:1.

Street or Three Number:
Here you bet on an entire row on the roulette table. Place your bet on the outside line of the row you want to bet on. Odds are 11:1.

Corner Bet:
Here you bet on four numbers in one go. Put your bet right in the middle of the four numbers where they join corners (20, 21, 23 and 24). The odds are 8:1.

Six Bet Number:
Here you bet on two rows of three numbers each. Put your bet on the outside line of the two rows you want to cover (28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33). The odds are 5:1.

Any Red or Black Bet:
Place your bet on either the black or the red areas on the outside. In this bet it doesn’t matter what number comes up, all that matetrs is the color. The odds bet are 1:1.

Low or High Number Bet:
Here you bet on the winning number being a low group number (1-18) or a high group number (19-36). If the 0 or 00 come up, you loose. The odds are 1:1.

An Even or Odd Bet:
As the name implies, with this bet you are betting on whether the winning number will be even or odd. If the 0 or 00 come up, you loose. The odds are also 1:1.

Column Bets:
There are three columns (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) each covers 12 numbers. You can bet on a column and if any of the numbers in your column come up, you are paid at 2:1 odds.

Roulette is a game of luck but you can help your odds by betting on the color or the odd or even number because they give you nearly a 50% chance of winning.

I always play European roulette because you don’t have the 00 slot which means your odds are better than in American roulette.
